Most potions will consist of 4 prepared ingredients, usually mixed together into 2 parts, which are then added together in the cooking process. Experimentation with any of these steps may yield astounding breakthroughs, or horrible death.
STEP ONE: Choosing ingredients. Select a plant, and the part of said plant you wish to experiment with.
St. Trinia’s Flower
STEP TWO: Preparation. Choose a way in which to prepare the ingredient for the mixture.
Infusion– extracts chemical compounds from the ingredients by steeping in heated water
Tincture– Concentrated essence of the plant through extracting in alcohol
Distillation– separation of chemical components by selective evaporation and condensation
STEP THREE: Combination. Select a process with which to combine two prepared ingredients
Hot– Creating a mixture while both ingredients are actively heated
Null– Creating a mixture while both ingredients are room temperature
Cold– Creating a mixture while both ingredients are chilled
STEP FOUR: Cooking. Select a process with which to process the final mix.
Reduction– Bringing the mixture to high heat and allowing it to boil off excess liquid over a period of time.
Constant– Stirring the mixture with an added percentage of water or oil to dilute the primary mix.
